Lincoln defeated winless Smithton (0-5) on Thursday night at home, 9-2.
The Cardinals scored 2 in the second, 1 in third, 4 in the fifth and 2 in the sixth. Smithton scored in the fifth and the seventh.
Riley Sanders started and pitched five innings giving up 1 run on 1 hit while striking out 11. Dawson Parrott came in for 2 innings and allowed 1 run on 5 hits striking out 2. Neither sophomore hurler gave up a free pass.
Sanders went 2 for 3 with a triple and drove in 2 runs. Cam Everhart went 3 for 4 and scored 2 runs. Hunter Vandaveer went 2 for 3 with a RBI and scored 1 run.
The Cardinals committed no errors while Smithton had 4 miscues on the night.
The lines went 9-10-0 for Lincoln and 2-6-4 for the Tigers.
Lincoln moved to 3-3.
