Busy March At Holy Rosary

Posted

The month of March was a very busy time for the 7th and 8th graders at Holy Rosary School.
Among their already rigorous academic schedule, the students enjoyed a week long forensic science unit. Clinton Police Officers paired with the 7 th and 8 th grade students for a crime unit investigation that involved fingerprinting, witness statements and police reports. The unit began with police officers writing a “fictional crime” that students had to respond to. Teachers were the witnesses of the crime and students had to question each witness. Along with questioning witnesses, students had to video the witness while questioning and take notes. Students were then required to file a “police report.” Clinton Police Officers then came to the school and demonstrated how to take fingerprints. For the culminating activity, Clinton Police Officers came to the school for a final time to read the police reports in front of the students. It proved to be a hilarious experience for the students, teachers and police officers. Holy Rosary would like to thank School Resource Officer Violet Williams and the rest of the wonderful Clinton Police Officers who made this activity possible!
