(6) Cole Camp defeated (2) Boonville 52-40 in the Stover Tournament on Wednesday night and it was closer than the final score would indicate. Free throw shooting extended the margin in an physically ugly game filled with turnovers and missed layups.

Cole Camp Coach Kevin Shearer said, "We like it ugly to a point; we call it making it nasty, but need to make it nasty with discipline."

The Bluebirds led 14-9 after one and thanks to some poor passing, Boonville tied it at half 18-18.

Tyler Howard made 4 of 6 free throws and a three in the final frame.

Shearer commented, "Tyler is a steady player gaining confidence every day."

The lanky Gentry Dieckman refused to come out after taking a WWE slam to the floor. Dieckman is becoming a huge threat from within the lane with his passing game. He had all of his 11 points in the second half.

It was 36-33 after three.
