Art For The Ages To Offer Something For Everyone

More than 50 works of art, including many by Henry County’s finest artists. Fried chicken prepared by Robert Perryman. And generous bidders who care about Clinton’s older adults.
These elements will come together at the Clinton Senior Center, 970 E. Sedalia Ave., on Sunday, March 26, to create the first-ever “Art for the Ages” fundraiser to benefit the center.
Tickets for event are on sale for $15 at the Gallery Three on the Clinton Square, the Clinton Chamber of Commerce Office at the Depot, and the senior center. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with the live art auction to follow. There also will be a silent auction and a 50-50 drawing. People who arrive after lunch ends at 1 p.m. will be admitted for $10.
The proceeds from the event will support the services and programs that the senior center, operated by Care Connection for Aging Services, provides for older adults, including home-delivered meals.
In the past fiscal year, Care Connection provided more than 42,500 meals served in the dining room and delivered to homebound older adults in Henry County. Other services range include fitness, education, and recreation.
“We think the benefit art auction will be something different for the community. We are trying to showcase local artists,” said Kathy Wilson, Henry County Services Director for Care Connection. “We have 54 pieces of art and a wide variety, including original oil and acrylics, as well as photography.”
A silent auction will include more than 50 gift certificates and other items that have been donated.
David Lee, Director of the Clinton Chamber of Commerce, will emcee the event. Lora Anstine, owner of Anstine Realty & Auction LLC, will serve as auctioneer.
“We are having a good old-fashioned fried chicken luncheon. People can come in and browse, and then we will have the live auction,” Wilson said. “We will have something for everyone.”
