The Henry County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has filed the charge of murder in the first degree against Shane Chesher, 36, of Windsor, Missouri.
Assistant Prosecutor LaChrisha Gray, who is prosecuting the case on behalf of the State of Missouri, filed the murder charge on March 15, 2022, after reviewing of the allegations presented by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The case stems from an investigation into a crash that occurred on March 4, 2022 involving a vehicle and a pedestrian on Jefferson Street in Windsor.
According to the probable cause statement filed in the case, the victim was struck by Chesher’s vehicle after a previous altercation between the two. The victim, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries several days later.
The defendant was located in the State of Kansas on March 15, 2022. Assistant Prosecutor LaChrisha Gray sought a no bond warrant from the Henry County Associate Court in an effort to ensure Chesher’s return to face this pending charge. The Court granted that request.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office transported Chesher from the State of Kansas and he is now in the Henry County Jail being held without bond.
Chesher is currently set for a bond reduction hearing in front of Judge Harold Dump on March 25, 2022 at 10:30 AM.
