Ralph Austin Courtney, age 77 of Deepwater, Missouri, passed away Saturday, July 10th, 2021 at Research Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri.
Ralph Austin Courtney, 77 of Deepwater, MO was born January 22, 1944.
He was preceded in death by his parents Otho C. & Velva M. (Sanders) Courtney; brothers: Clifford Cravens, Larry Cravens; sisters: Betty Hooten-Hughes, Shirley Hayes.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Francis Jackson of Sugar Creek, MO; brother, Gary & wife Marti Courtney of Independence, MO; son, Thomas & wife Anita (Diane) Courtney of Marshfield, MO; son, Christopher Courtney of Springfield, MO; son, Bryan & wife Jamie Courtney of Springfield, MO; daughter, Janice & husband Richard Dills of Independence, MO; 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
He worked at William Volker & Co in Kansas City, MO; Hite Carpet Co in Clinton, MO; as a deputy with the Henry County MO Sheriff’s Dept.; and in the Medical Supply business before retiring.
A loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather who loved his family & friends very much. Enjoyed spending as much time as possible with family; the grandchildren & great-grandchildren and loved them dearly. He always loved to see the excitement on their faces when they would go for golf cart rides and visit the neighbors.
He will be missed tremendously, but will be in our hearts and fond memories forever.
Funeral services were held July 15, 2021 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. Jim Brack officiating. Special music included “A Little Spot In Heaven and Where Could I Go.” The casket bearers were Tom Courtney, Bryan Courtney, Richard Dills, Chris Courtney and Janice Dills. Interment followed in Deepwater Cemetery, Deepwater, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
