Kathleen “Kathy” (Goff) Millam
Kathleen “Kathy” (Goff) Millam, 85, of Edwards, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Friday evening, May 27, 2022, at her home.
She was born June 28, 1936, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Eugene Gerald Shepherd and Francis Ilene (Raab) Shepherd. On August 5, 1952, she married Daniel Lee “Danny” Goff in Sedalia, Mo. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1996. She married James Lee “Jim” Millam in October of 2000, at the Quarels Baptist Church near Clinton, Mo., and he survives her of the home.
Kathy attended St. Mary’s Catholic School in Kansas City until moving to Warsaw, where she finished up her high school career, graduating from Warsaw High School. She attended State Fair Community College, studying nursing and obtained her LPN from Warrensburg Area Vocational Technical School. She worked as a nurse for over 35 years at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton. While at the hospital, she was instrumental in starting the Endoscopy and Oncology department at the hospital, alongside Dr. James Clouse.
She was a member of the Quarles Baptist Church and enjoyed playing cards with her card club friends. Kathy’s enjoyed cooking for her family, especially large family gatherings. She enjoyed crochet, flowers, shopping, watching Dancing with the Stars, and traveling with Jim in their retirement.
In addition to her husband Jim, survivors include 6 grandchildren, Roger Howell, Sedalia, Mo., Kim Howell (David Jennings), Houston, Texas, Jeremy Goff, Warsaw, Mo., Jennifer Maslen (Jimmie) Jamestown, Mo., Cody Goff (Kelly), Marshall, Mo., and Steven “Moe” Goff (Krystal), Carl Junction, Mo.; 12 great-grandchildren, Christopher Howell, Tyler Jennings, Nate Jennings, Noah Jennings, Andrew Maslen, Austin Maslen, Carmen Goff, Kendyl Goff, Olivia Goff, Isabella Goff, Anastasia Goff, and Alex Goff; a great-great-granddaughter, Victoria Howell; 2 adopted daughters, Brandy Bailey, Windsor, Mo., and Christy Larrabee, Lamar, Mo; a brother, Rich Shepherd, Orlando, Florida; 2 sisters, Julie Sally (Phillip), Montgomery, Alabama, and Pat Lea, San Bernardino, California; and several nephews, nieces, great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins. In addition to her husband Danny, she was preceded in death 2 sons, Danny D. Goff and Steven “Chuck” Goff; a daughter, Cynthia Warnock; a grandson-in-law, Eric Hendrix; and a great-granddaughter, Asia Howell.
Funeral services will be 6:00 p.m., Thursday evening, June 2, 2022, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, Mo., with Gene Gann officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor, at a later date.
