Petentler, Srader, Carleton
Nova June Petentler, Srader, Carleton, age 92, of Leesville, Missouri passed away June 6th, 2022 while visiting Texas. She was born May 14, 1930 in Independence, Mo, the only child of John and Thelma Petentler.
Nova Graduated from William Chrisman High School, Independence, in 1948. Nova was married to Richard D. Srader for 25 years until his death in 1974. They had 4 children, Dixie Smalley (deceased), John Srader (deceased), Bobby Srader (deceased) and Terri Moon of Yantis, Tx.
In 1978 Nova married Bobby Carleton of Leesville, MO. They were married for 41 years, until his death in 2019. He had 2 children, Rick Carleton (deceased) and Deanne Hill (deceased).
Nova gave 42 years of her life working for H&R Block. She loved collecting sea shells while vacationing, fishing, rodeo’s, mushroom hunting, but she especially loved spending time with family and friends. To know her was to love her. She was the epitome of strength, patience, and grace, and would always greet you with a smile and a hug. This tiny lady was truly an “Angel on Earth”.
Nova leaves behind 6 Grandchildren, Hannah & Haley Hill, Dan Smalley, Stacey Taylor, Echo Burkhart and Becky Moon, 5 Great Grandchildren, Bryan, Brittney, Kaenan, Kaleb, and James and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren, Paisley, Serenity, Chase, and Aurora, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24th at Tebo Baptist Church in Leesville, Mo at 2:00 p.m. with burial to follow at Tebo Church cemetery.

Keith Warren Henry
Keith Warren Henry was born November 2nd, 1933. He was born in his grandmother’s home in Clinton, Missouri. He grew up on the Henry farm with his parents, Warren and Cecilia. It was on this farm, where he would live for 88 years. Keith passed away Friday night, September 16, 2022 at the Truman Lake Manor in Lowry City, Mo.
He attended the one room schoolhouse, Freedom School, on AA Highway. His transportation to and from school was Bud, his horse. He attended Clinton High School, graduating in 1952. On May 11th, 1953, he married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Ann Meierotto. Keith joined the army and he and his bride moved to Fort Riley, Kansas until Keith was sent to Korea. When Keith returned home he and Patty moved out to the Henry farm east of town.
It is here they would raise their three children: Ronald Keith, John Kenneth, and Karol Suzanne. Keith is survived by his wife, Patricia, of 69 years. His son Ronnie Keith and his wife Diana of Humansville, his daughter Karol Suzanne and husband Robert Seydel of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and one daughter-in-law, Lynn Henry of St Louis. Two grandchildren: John Warren Henry and his wife Shannon of Osceola, Arianne Marie Henry of Kansas City. He has two great[1]grandchildren: Rylee and Colby Henry of Osceola. He was preceded in death by his parents Warren and Cecilia, one son, John Kenneth Henry, and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Memorial services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 23, 2022 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment will be in Englewood Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Holy Rosary School or St. Croix Hospice, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home. Beatrice “Bea” Margaret Vogel
Beatrice “Bea” Margaret Vogel, age 99 of Montrose, MO, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022, at Carnegie Village SLC in Belton, MO where she has resided since 2017. She was born on November 30, 1922, in Marcus, IA, the second of eight children of Theodore “Ted” and Clara (Rotert) Greufe. Bea was six months old when the family moved back to their hometown, Germantown, MO, to help farm the Rotert homestead after the accidental death of Clara’s only sibling, Ben Rotert. Ted and Clara eventually purchased the Rotert family farm where Bea and her seven siblings were raised.
Bea attended Maple Grove Elementary School in Germantown and graduated 8th grade in 1937. She helped on the farm and worked for other people in the area as a caregiver, later she worked as a waitress in Ballard and in Butler MO. In 1942, she moved to Kansas City and went to work for Butler Manufacturing and other companies, assembling products for the war effort.
On June 20, 1944, she married Erwin Vogel at St. Ludger’s Catholic Church in Germantown. After living in Kansas City for a few years and the birth of two daughters, they returned to the Germantown area in 1948 where they raised their six children: Barbara, Carolyn, Donald, William, Judy, and Jerry. Erwin was part owner and operator of Vogel’s TV and Appliances in Montrose, MO, and in 1957 moved the family to Montrose, they bought the farm west of town in 1960. Bea worked hard on the small farm, raising hatchery chickens and a few cattle plus maintaining large gardens. Erwin passed away from cancer in October 1963, leaving her to solely provide for their young family. She went to work as a seamstress at Unitog in Clinton, MO, where she remained until retiring in 1991. After retirement, she continued to work caring for several home-bound individuals. While at Unitog, she represented her coworkers as Union Stewart and enjoyed attending conventions throughout the country. She loved to travel and was always eager to join her kids on their family vacations, or her siblings on camping adventures, or her daughters (and sisters) on road trips. She continued to travel while in her nineties including a trip to Rome at 94 years of age.
Bea was a devout and active member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, MO, where she was a Eucharistic Minister both at Mass and to the homebound and hospitalized. She was a long-time member of the Altar Sodality and was sacristan for 20 years, setting up for daily and weekend Masses, and leading the rosary before Mass. She washed and ironed the alter linens and server’s vestment, participated in and was the contact person for the prayer chain, as well as helped with church fundraisers including the annual Labor Day Picnic. She also taught CCD for nine years and received the Bishop’s Recognition Award for special service to her parish.
As the family matriarch, she delighted in her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren and rarely missed a baptism, first communion, or wedding. Her children and grandchildren cherish the incredible quilts she made for each of them. Affectionally known as “Grandma Bea”, she was dearly loved, greatly admired, and left a legacy of hard work, strong faith, and giving spirit for her family to emulate.
She is preceded in death by her husband Erwin, her parents, all her siblings including three sisters; Benita (Joe) Grinzinger, Alice (Glen) Westhusing, and Ellen (Joe) Burrough and four brothers; Boniface (June), Ludger (Rita), Leland, and Howard Greufe, two infant great grandchildren, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
Bea is survived by her six children Barbara (Ed) Steinbach, Montrose, MO, Carolyn (Mike) Pope, Garfield, AR, Don (Cathy) Vogel, Pleasant Hill, MO, Bill (Deb) Vogel, Montrose, MO, Judy (Dennis) Daugherty, Raymore, MO, and Jerry Vogel, Deepwater, MO. She also leaves her 16 grandchildren and their spouses, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren as well as sisters-in-law Evelyn Greufe, Pleasant Hill, MO, Betty Kniffen, Lenexa, KS, Jane Vogel, KC, KS, Charlotte Vogel, Harrisonville, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass is Tues., Sept. 20, 2022 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montrose, MO with Fr. Tom Hermes and Fr. Jason Koch officiating. Visitation 9:30-10:30 AM before Mass and Rosary 10:30 AM. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorials to St. Mary’s Cemetery or St. Ludger’s Germantown Cemetery. Arr. Marvin Helseth
Marvin Helseth, 76, of Windsor, Missouri, died Thursday morning, September 15, 2022, at his home near Windsor.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2022, at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Pastor Regina Hix officiating. Burial will be in the Houstonia Cemetery, Houstonia, Mo. The family will receive friends before the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Paulette Marie Clarida
Paulette Marie Clarida, age 93, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Monday, August 29, 2022 at The Arbors of Harmony Gardens in Warrensburg, Missouri, after a short illness.
Palette was born on April 29, 1929 in Soustons, Landes, France, she was the 2nd child of Vincent Paul Cassen and wife, Jeanne Marie Lasserre.
She married the love of her life, Orville Douglas Clarida, an American serviceman from Fort Scott, Kansas, on September 4, 1954 in Boissise-la-Bertrand, Seine-et-Marne, France and was an attentive and loving mother to their 3 children. They were married for 61 years until Orville died in 2015.
Paulette grew up in Southwest France and loved the pine forests and the ocean. She was taught to knit as a child and survived the WWII Nazi occupation of Bordeaux and the ensuing death and destruction due to heavy bombing of the area around their chateau by knitting in the dark due to black outs. Knitting calmed her nerves and she continued to knit her entire life. She made and donated thousands of baby booties, blankets and caps to hospital nurseries plus knitted wool caps for soldiers serving in Afghanistan to wear and to pass out to Afghan children.
Orville and Paulette returned to the USA in 1956 and were stationed at Fort Bliss, TX until his retirement from the service in 1964. The family lived for a short time in Dell City, TX and Fort Scott, KS before moving to Independence, MO where she became an American citizen in 1967 and Warrensburg, MO from 1969 through 1982. They retired to Deepwater, MO until 2008 when they moved to Springfield, MO and lived until 2015 when Orville died. Paulette moved to Overland Park, KS for 3 years and to Holden, MO until 2021. Paulette was a vivacious soul who lived a full and interesting life despite the trauma of her early years. While she kept a strong French accent in her speech all of her days, she loved to read poetry and philosophy and write poetry in English. She was a lifelong avid reader and loved to give books as gifts. She also loved to flower and vegetable garden and created beautiful surroundings at all of her homes.
Paulette is survived by her three children: Joanne Shrout (David), Independence, Mo, Patrick Clarida of Holden, Mo and Catherine Moore (Alan) Springfield, Mo, and 8 grandchildren: Beth McDow, Overland Park, KS, Joshua Shrout (Adell) and Jon Shrout, Independence, Mo, Jacob Moore, Ozark, Mo, Karyn Barnes (William), Willard, Mo, Jamie Schuman (Jesse), Raymore, Mo, Jeremy Calhoun and Justin Clarida, Holden, Mo and 12 great grandchildren. The 2nd of 6 children, Paulette is also survived by 3 sisters and many nieces, nephews and cousins in France. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, parents and her sister and brother.
Funeral services will be on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Vansant-Mills Chapel in Clinton, Missouri. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 PM at the Fort Scott National Cemetery in Fort Scott, Kansas. Memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Hospice and can be left in care of the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held September 6, 2022 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel with Rev. David Mills officiating. Interment followed in Fort Scott National Cemetery, Fort Scott, Kansas.
