Kathryn (Strouse) Kennon Morgan
Kathryn (Strouse) Kennon Morgan was born on September 19th, 1931 and passed at home with family on December 11, 2021. Kathryn was born to Thelma Harrison and Clarance Strouse in El Dorado Springs where she graduated high school, married Dennis Kennon, to which they had 6 children - Danny (Becky) Kennon, Eddie (Carey) Kennon, Mark (Tammy) Kennon, Paul Kennon, Dave (Angie) Kennon and Kimmie (Darrel) Blankenship and her devoted niece Peggy (Davis) Wheaton. She is preceded in death by both parents, sister Betty Davis, her son Ed Kennon, husband Jan Morgan and numerous precious loved ones and friends.
Later, Kathryn moved to Clinton, Missouri where she lived for many years. She married Jan Morgan and had the honor of becoming part of his family who include Linda & Rick Burnett, Jan & Kiki Morgan, Nancy & Jeff Denny, Vencia & Randy Williamson, John and Michele Morgan, Marty & Julie Morgan, Denise & Dean Owsley, and Danielle & Alan Payne.
As you can imagine, she has many, many grandchildren, great-children, and great-great grandchildren all of which she loves dearly and told everyone about. In her 90 years of living, she had many challenges and accomplishments, she went to state in Basketball in High School, graduated Business College in Springfield, and lived for many years in Walnut Creek, California. She was elected as the first female School Board member in El Dorado Springs, she owned and co-owned businesses including Ed Sporting Goods for over 30 years, among many other business ventures, all of which were her zeal and passion in life. She was also well known for her excellent winning abilities at Bingo, attending cards at the Eagles or holding card games in her home for friends, having huge family dinners with games, matching outfits, kicking her leg over her head well into her 70s, her famous homemade ice cream and the fantastic conversation that was held in her living room that many of us miss dearly. She was also known for her unwavering faith in Jesus, which, as her headstone reads, she has “Gone Home”, which we are all eternally grateful for knowing that while we will miss her dearly, we will see her again someday.
Sylvia L. “Carder” Ballmer
Sylvia L. “Carder” Ballmer, age 83, passed away at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation, in Clinton, Missouri, on December 22, 2021, with her family at her side.
Sylvia was born in the family home in Chilhowee, Missouri, on January 12, 1938, to Raymond Carder and Erma “Smith” Carder.
Sylvia graduated from Chilhowee High School. She ran the glass pit at the Blue Valley Show, many years in Chilhowee. She was a member of the Eastern Star, T.O.P.S, sewing club, and a very involved member of the Northeast Baptist Church here in Clinton. Where she helped with the church bulletin, a greeter, and Sunday school teacher.
Sylvia and Rosalee Johnson, held Wednesday evening bible study and worship services at Westwood Nursing Home here in Clinton for many years. She worked many years at Rival Manufacturing, in Clinton. Before retiring in 2000, she was a hard worker, soft hearted, loved helping people and very giving to others. So much that she would give to others and then do without herself at times.
Sylvia is survived by her son, Wilbur Ballmer, Clinton, Missouri; daughters, Sharon Sorden, Clinton, Missouri, and Kathy Welch, San Antonio, Texas; 6 grandsons; 3 granddaughters; 12 great-grandsons; and 3 great-granddaughters; brother, Ronnie “Jae Ann” Carder, Punta Garda, Florida; as well as many other family and friends.
She was preceded by her parents, Raymond and Erma Carder; daughter, Susie Ellis; son, Danny Ellis; and granddaughter, Danielle Welch.
Services will be Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Northeast Baptist Church, 619 East Lincoln Street, Clinton, Missouri. Visitation 10:00 AM, Funeral Service 11:00 AM, burial at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens, Warrensburg, Missouri, following the funeral service.
The family ask that donations be made in Sylvia’s memory to Northeast Baptist Church, and can be left with Consalus Funeral Home, 209 S. 2nd Street, Clinton, Missouri, 64735.

Robert Wayne Fields
Robert Wayne Fields, age 85, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at his home in Calhoun, Missouri.
Robert Wayne Fields was born on July 28, 1936 in Clinton, Missouri to Edward and Maude (Robertson) Fields.
Robert retired from Hilty Quarry where he worked as a blaster. He worked on his farm for many years and enjoyed the outdoors. Family was important to Robert. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Robert is Preceded in death by his wife Gladys, parents Edward and Maude Fields, his sisters; Helen Click and Elsie Kampe, brothers; Donald Fields and Elmer Fields, Step children; Judy Playle, Dale Harrelson.
Survivors include his son Wayne Fields of the home, his daughter Sue Smith of Moundsville, Missouri, 3 brothers; Charles Fields of Calhoun, Missouri, Jackie Fields of Clinton, Missouri, Everett Fields of Clinton, Missouri, 6 sisters; Gladys Turnner of Racine, Wisconsin, Betty Glenn of Springfield, Missouri, Dorothy Hager of Elkhart, Indiana, Mildred Redding of Clinton, Missouri, Nadine Pennock of Clinton, Missouri, Barbara Lewis of Warrensburg, Missouri, One step daughter, Ginger Peek, Jim Harrelson, one grandchild; Pam (Jason) Fleener, their children Cole and Cody Fleener along with several nieces, nephews and many friends. Funeral services were held December 21, 2021 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton with Rev. David Mills officiating. Special music included "Amazing Grace, Holes In the Floor of Heaven and Footprints In the Sand." Inurnment will follow in Calhoun Cemetery at a later date.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.

Harry M. Holcomb, age 88, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 25, at Westwood Living Center in Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Vansant-Mills Chapel. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service. Burial will follow in Englewood Cemetery in Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Clinton VFW or the Veterans Home in Warrensburg, Missouri and can be left in care of the funeral home. Services have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, Missouri.
