Local Man Arrested Following Argument

Alleged drug abuse, argument and felony assault led to the arrest of a Clinton man, on November 23 in Clinton.
Jeremy Letcher, 32, was arrested on November 23 at the residence of his girlfriend by law enforcement patrol officers of the Clinton Police Department.
According to the probable cause statement, arriving officers found the alleged victim in a flushed and crying condition.
The victim advised law enforcement of alleged methamphetamine use by her boyfriend the preceding day. She told officers he (Letcher) was hallucinating people being in the residence and basement. The victim further stated no basement exists at her residence.
She told law enforcement, that on the 23rd during an argument, Letcher allegedly swept a glass and potted plant off a table top. The victim further stated her boyfriend allegedly pushed and kneed (shoved his knee) into her back. She said Lechter followed her into the garage where he allegedly grabbed her by the neck and pushed her into a wall.
The victim told law enforcement that she was able to breathe during the alleged encounter.
The officers observed a scratch on the victims neck, and a broken flower pot and glass on the kitchen floor.
The suspect had a $25,000 bond placed on November 24 by the court.
At press time no court date has been set, no public defender hired or surety bond paid.
Lechter remains in the custody of Henry County Sheriff Kent Oberkrum, at the county jail in Clinton.
