Kenny's "Walk Across America" Arrives In Clinton

Posted

Kenny Mintz, from Pennsylvania, recently retired from the Army, then decided to walk across America.
He started on April 1, 2022, at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C.
Mr. Mintz graduated from West Point in 1991 and went into the service. When he retired last year he decided to help out some charities, i.e. Pancreatic Cancer Research and several Veteran programs. He also offered that he wanted to honor the memory of his mother. When Kenny was young his mother drove her young family across the country to start a new life in California.
He said, because of her determination, they had a wonderful life. His mother later died of Pancreatic Cancer. So, Kenny’s walk has meaning on several levels.
Kenny’s daughter, Margaret, supports him on his 3,000-mile journey.
“Kenny Walks Across America”, arrived in Clinton on Tuesday, June 28 at 11:45am.
Kenny has a small American flag hanging on his back.
Several of us were at the Clinton Katy Trail Trailhead to meet him. Mayor Carla Moberly shook Kenny’s hand and invited him to Old Glory Days and other activities. David Lee presented him with a goody bag from the Clinton Chamber of Commerce.
Those of us in attendance were able to hear why he took on this challenge. If you want more information and details go to: Kenny Walks Across America, on Facebook.
I think everyone in attendance invited him to the Veterans Dinner.
Good luck on your walk Kenny!
