James Marty “Martin" a.k.a. "Mart” Woods, age 65, passed away peacefully with his daughter, son-in-law, and fiancé by his side on Sunday July 18, 2021. Martin was born on August 18, 1955, to James Alfred Woods and Marcella Jean (Richman) Woods, in Kansas City, Missouri.

He graduated from Clinton High School in 1974 and remained close with many of his classmates and as an Elks Member was close with many in the Clinton community. Martin was an owner-operator truck-driver and told many stories of traveling all across the United States. He took pride in his occupation and making sure that JMW Transportation always delivered on time. He was currently working for Bosselman Energy. Martin had a great love of the outdoors, especially the time he spent with family boating on Table Rock Lake. He was an accomplished deer hunter with numerous deer mounts and antlers to show for it. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He never met a stranger, and his warm smile and charm were genuine. Mart was quick to lend a helping hand or an ear to anyone who needed it. He was a loving father, brother, and uncle who loved his family and friends very much.

He was preceded in death by his Father, James A. Woods, and Mother, Marcella Richardson.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Caitlen and Drew Francis (and furry grandson, Chuy); his fiancé, Janine Ross; Step-Mother, Bonnie Woods; Sisters and Brothers, Sue (Phil) Henderson; Tammy (Jim) Crowell, David (Cyndy) Taylor, Darrin (Jayne) Taylor, Dwayne (Elizabeth) Taylor, Teri (Jake) Jacobs, Dale (Kristin) Woods; his step-son, Ashley Stewart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many others whom he loved dearly. We'll all miss you, Mart. Godspeed.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m., at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, 1410 East DZF Rd, Clinton, MO 64735 and is open to all family and friends. A memorial service will be at 6:30 p.m., followed by The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks service under the direction of the Clinton Elks Lodge. Martin would say, "The more the merrier." Celebration of life will be held at a later date, yet to be determined. The family suggests memorials to the kids special needs zoo trip fund in care of the Clinton Elks Lodge.
