The trial of Kyle Rittenhouse was something to watch. He never should have put himself in the middle of a riot, especially with a gun. Where were his parents? The three men he shot shouldn’t have been there either. What do these people think is going to happen at an event like this? The Governor of Wisconsin and the Mayor of Kenosha own this mess. Had they done their jobs and refused to let the rioters and looters “have at it,” the whole thing could have been avoided. As for the jury and the verdict, every once in a while we see twelve good men and women overcome outrage perpetrated by a pandering prosecutor and media. The DA could have saved himself some embarrassment by ignoring the mobs demand in the first place. When someone is kicking you in the head, another is pointing a loaded handgun at your face and a third is trying to decapitate you with a skateboard, I think it’s fair to say shooting them is self defense.

Hang on to your hats and bar the door. The President’s infrastructure bill passed the House and is on its way to the Senate. At least we can rest assured no government official will profit from this deal and neither will their family members. With all the new IRS agents, some are bound to have downtime. They can investigate government agency’s that waste taxpayer money. This should solve all of our problems. If this bill passes the Senate, inflation is set to soar and the IRS will goose step into your home and go through your finances. That’s how Marxism works.

Took Max (Schnauzer) out for an early morning walk to see the lunar eclipse. This was the longest partial one since 1440 and turned the moon various shades of red. These are rare events and well worth getting up for. I hope we never lose our curiosity of seeing the wonders of the heavens. There is other intergalactic news. Scientists have detected a salty lake on Mars. Perhaps we’ll find out if the old adage is true, “Where there is water, there is life.” Hopefully we won’t discover something out there we wish we hadn’t discovered. Or maybe we’ll discover there used to life on Mars before the Martians discovered coal.
