TIME IN CLINTON:
18 years growing up and now I have been back in Clinton 11 years!
FAMILY:
Doug and Kristi Kenney are my parents. Bob and Cathy Sexauer are my In-laws. Melana Kenney is my wife and we have 5 kids (Leah 14, Lily 12, Ellis 11, Beckett 7, Otto 3) and we also have the privilege of having MJ (16) from the Netherlands with us this year.
OCCUPATION:
Clinton School District: Henry Elementary Assistant Principal
EDUCATION:
Graduated from Clinton High School in 2001! Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with a Minor in History from CMSU. Then I went back to get my Masters in Administration from William Woods University in 2012.
FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY:
Growing up my brothers and sister and I would play a lot of 21 Tip (basketball) in the front driveway. We’d play for hours and the best part about it, I’d always win
FIRST JOB:
I worked at Pizza Glen as a Dishwasher- loved every minute of it!
FAVORITE MUSIC ARTIST:
Not a big music person, I’d much rather listen to Sports Talk Radio.
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN YOUR FRIENDS?
A friend is someone that is always there no matter what, someone that you can always count on being there for you when you need them. They listen and they support you. The best thing about a friend is that you don’t have to tell them when something is wrong, they just know and they help you out of a tough situation or bad mood.
HOBBIES:
Coaching/Watching my kids play sports or practicing with them in the yard and driveway. We do get some time for Melana and I. We also like to play sports, from volleyball to softball and anything in between. We’ve actually become pretty good at SpikeBall!
I HOPE I NEVER EVER HAVE TO:
Deal with any kind of loss. It’s so tough on everyone to lose someone.
I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO:
Dunk a basketball. I know that is surprising since I was a 2x District Champ for Clinton 2000, 2001, but I just never had the hops!
MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT:
It’s been a long time ago, but when I was younger we were at a shopping mall and the fountains had the pennies in the bottom from people making wishes. Well I really wanted to grab a penny so I was reaching over the railing and I fell in! When I was picked up out of the water by my mom, my brother asked, “Well did you get one?”
IF I WON THE LOTTERY I WOULD:
Of course, pay my kids way through college, but I would buy an island and move my whole family to the beach!
FUTURE GOAL:
I love what I do, so my future goal is to just keep being me and enjoying the ride. I know who is in charge and so far, I’m happy with where HE is taking me.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR?
Failing, I don’t like to fail. I want to be there for my family and my students and when I feel like I am failing, it scares me.
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT LIVING IN CLINTON?
There are so many amazing things about living in Clinton! Growing up here was amazing, the community comes together to support you no matter what, if it’s the big game in HS, Graduation, loss in the family or if it's supporting the Animal Shelter by just giving back. It doesn’t matter the cause, we are Clinton. This is what we do! Growing up here I made so many friends of the family, so when I came back it was like I never left! Same smiling faces, same supportive businesses and community members. Now I get to raise my kids in the town I grew up in, the memories I get to share, the people I get to introduce them to! It’s just wonderful. I guess what I am trying to say is, what’s the best thing about living in Clinton, it’s living in Clinton!

WHICH PERSON DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST?
It’s got to be my wife and I know, I know, sure it is. How can I not admire the perfect mom, wife, coach, taxi driver, business owner, etc? She manages it all, and with 5 kids and an extra most of the time, it's A LOT and she does it with a smile on her face. She is our rock!
