Get To Know Clinton, MO!

Posted

BIRTHPLACE:
Cole Camp, MO
YEARS IN CLINTON: 42
FAMILY: My wonderful husband Dan,2 children Jim and Valerie, and 3 amazing grandchildren, Gage,
Raynee, and Remington.
OCCUPATION:
Retired for the 4'n time and I think it's going to last this time.
EDUCATION:
Cole Camp HS
FAVORITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY:
There are so many when you're my age, but I think it's going to my friend,
Carolyn's house when we were 5 or 6 years old. We would get dressed up in our moms clothes and sell lemonade to her family for a penny a glass. Still see Carolyn frequently and mention this sometimes.
FIRST JOB:
Waitress at the DeLux Cafe in Cole Camp in the early 60's.
FAVORITE MUSIC ARTIST:
Probably Mercyme or most of the OLD country
WHAT DO YOU VALUE MOST IN YOUR FRIENDS?
Just being there and have a crazy sense of humor like me. I
have friends from 65+ years ago and we still talk but mostly laugh at each other. That's love.
HOBBIES: I love to cook and bake, but as far as hobbies, that's about all.
I HOPE I NEVER HAVE TO: Take care of a snake
I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO:
Play an instrument
MOST EMBARRASSING MOMENT: We were out of town and my "wonderful" husband convinced me that a lady across the road was a person I knew. I sneak over behind her and grabbed her arms, and needless to say it wasn't her. After scaring her to death, and scaring me when she turned around and I found out it wasn't her, I apologized and never again did I do that....
IF I WON THE LOTTERY I WOULD:
Donate a lot of it to the first responders for things they need to make their jobs easier, also to the law enforcement agencies to help them do their jobs more safe. I would also donate to the Clinton Animal Shelter for all they do. Of course start saving accounts for the grandkids to get when they are 21...
FUTURE GOAL:
Just to live the rest of my life with my family and share good times
WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT LIVING IN CLINTON?
The people. A lot of them are caring, giving, and helping when someone is in need, and they do it without expecting anything back.
WHAT IS YOUR GREATEST FEAR:
Something happening to my kids or grandkids before me.
WHICH PERSON DO YOU ADMIRE THE MOST?
I have to double up on this one and say, my kids, Jim and Valerie. They both have had very difficult times in their adult life that they should not have had to go through. They are such strong people and overcame their struggles, and they both have hearts of gold and are very loving. I have to look up to them and praise them so much. I am so proud to be their mom.
WORDS TO LIVE BY: When the grands were going to CCA, one of the teachers had a poster on the wall that said " Everyday may not be good, but there is something good in everyday." Sometimes you feel like you have to look for it but it's there just waiting to be found.
