Clinton Church
of the Nazarene
Pastor, opened the service with prayer, then said; We know a ghost, The Holy Ghost, who wants and needs the fellowship of God's people. Don't be a hoarder. The Holy Ghost can help you do away with all your messy garbage. This garbage is anything that keeps you from worshiping God. Jesus received a spiritual victory; The fruit of the spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us power, a greater power and Jesus tells us we will be witnesses of this power.
So walk in this power. Break the chains of any addiction and love your enemy. Start where you are and tell others of Jesus and what He has done for you. Be a team with the Holy Ghost as you receive power and can be a witness. Pray for those you see and or know they need Jesus. Let the Holy Spirit work through you. Pray for the strength and words to use. Flee to God in prayer for his mercy and forgiveness. Jesus will empower you and be with you.
Verses from Acts Chapter 1 were used to further illustrate the message.
We thank each person for coming to worship here today. We pray that we receive a rich blessing by being here and that you will come again. See you in Church.

The majority of us probably have a few unsavory ancestors. The fact is, Jesus did, too. Take Matthew’s genealogy of Jesus, for example. Most Jewish genealogies did not include women, but Matthew included five women in his, with one not formally named (Matt 1:6). Only one (Mary) was Jewish. Tamar and Rahab were Canaanites, Ruth was a Moabite, and while Bathsheba was an Israelite, she had married a Hittite (Uriah), so she was legally considered to be a Hittite. Four of these women had somewhat of an unsavory reputation. Even Abraham, the stalwart of God, did some questionable acts of morality. The point Matthew was making was that God’s blessings were going to be for all nations, not just the Jewish community. Jesus’ ancestors, like ours, were human with human faults. Jesus came to this earth, so that we all are given the opportunity for complete redemption, even though we have sinned (Romans 3:23-24).
Vacation Bible School for 2022 is now history; our sincere thanks to Melynne Jones and everyone who helped in any and every way! Last Sunday morning, the congregation was treated to a recap of the VBS event, with a power point presentation of photos and song. Some of the children also enthusiastically demonstrated the motions of the theme song, “Concrete and Cranes.”
Bro James’ message was a reminder that we, like Paul (Philippians 1:1), are called to be a servant of Christ Jesus. Seeing our lives in the right perspective allows us to focus on the bigger picture, for we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28). The important thing (our purpose) is to preach Christ to the hurting and lost world in which we live.

“Is The Church Just Another Building?”
Church is a local assembly of believers as indicated in Acts 2:46-47. (KJV)
People overlook Satan’s part in all that is going on in the world today. Some people don’t believe they need to come to church, that it’s just another building.
There are some people who believe that watching a church service online is enough. What if someone wanted spiritual counseling, wanted to come down to the alter for prayer?
Church is very important.
It says in Ephesians 2:22-23 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all. (KJV)
Christ gave his blood for the church,
1 Corinthians 12:27-28 (KJV)
Spiritual gifts are given to edify the church. Paul established churches in differ areas. Jesus instructed John to write letters to the churches. (Revelations 1:2-3 KJV) Jesus said he would return for his church. (Revelations 22:16 KJV)
2 Sa 7:4-7 (KJV)
If church is just a building why did God say to David that he wanted a house of cedar because he had walked in tents. Church is not just another building.
1 Kings 5:3-5 Thou knowest how that David my father could not build an house unto the name of the LORD his God for the wars which were about him on every side, until the LORD put them under the soles of his feet. But now the LORD my God hath given me rest on every side, so that there is neither adversary nor evil occurrent. And, behold, I purpose to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God, as the LORD spake unto David my father, saying, Thy son, whom I will set upon thy throne in thy room, he shall build an house unto my name. (KJV)
1 Ki 8:10 (KJV)
Watching church online only you will miss out on those experiences where God shows up and dwells within the church. Satan doesn’t want anyone to experience the presence of God, the prayers, and testimony service. All of these things are experienced inside the church.
1 Ti 3:15 (KJV)
The house of God is where the truth is at. Satan wants to keep you away from God’s house as much as possible.
Hebrews 10:24-25 Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:
Heb 10:25 (KJV)
We don’t assemble anymore, that is why the churches are no longer full. When we assemble, we can encourage and strengthen one another. We get weak when we are away from church.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
Don’t forsake the assembly of worshiping in church together. Church is more than just a building, it is where God manifest among worshipers. God Bless.
Mt. Zion UMC
Pastor David’s Pentecost message, “Tongues of Fire”, had an Epistle reading from Acts 2:1-21, and a Gospel reading from John 16:1-15. Pentecost is the 50th day after the Resurrection, corresponding with the end of Jewish Passover. Christ had ascended to the right hand of God the Father and God sent the world a counselor—the Holy Spirit—or Spirit of Truth. This Holy Spirit is the presence of God that guides us.
We can think of this person of God as our conscience, to some degree. When we pray for guidance, God gives us the Spirit of Truth as we learn from Scripture about our sense of right and wrong. Pay keen attention to this Counselor, for it is God providing us guidance.
In the early church the Spirit gave great power to the first Christians because it was necessary for the furtherment of the Gospel. The Acts of the Apostles tells us that heavenly fire descended upon the Apostles giving them the ability to “speak in other languages”. Often this verse is misinterpreted to mean inane babel—sputtering out sentence fragments and claiming it a language unique to God. The Holy Spirit doesn’t give hysteria. It gave the gift of speaking another human language so that many from distant lands—who spoke various languages—understood and were amazed. The purpose was to carry the message of Christ to all people, not just the Jews.
The Spirit gave the gift of speaking other languages—the Apostles were given what they needed to perform the task and responded by spreading the Word of Christ. Do we respond when God calls us to do His bidding? Too often we may make excuses—I’m too busy, that person won’t listen, its not my job, I’m too old, I’m not prepared for this. We must put these things out of our mind and listen to the Spirit—letting the presence of God guide our thoughts and inspire our actions.
The gift of Pentecost is one of hope, hope that God is with us, informing us and guiding our actions through the Presence of the Holy Spirit. Listen to that voice inside you that says ‘Love this person; make that call to someone you can’t get out of your mind.’ Show the love of God to all those around you. Let the Holy Spirit be your compass throughout life. When God calls, answer. The Lord has provided all that you need to complete the task at hand. Amen!
Save Our World Ministries
We began our service with the singing of "I Need You to Survive" as the congregation lined the sanctuary hand in hand. A tradition started by Pastor Don Brown last year.
Pastor J.R. Shockley brought the message which tied in to Sister Bernice Fletcher's concerning grief and broken hearts. An important aspect of continuing Pastor Don Brown's legacy and vision.
Pastor Shockley directed us to John Ch. 14 vs. 1-4 and John Ch. 16 vs. 29-33. Jesus said "Let not your heart be troubled, you believe in God, believe in Me......and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also". The disciples misunderstood Jesus' message and it brought them confusion, but we now understand His message and can look forward to that amazing day!
In John 16;29-33 Jesus clarified his message once again and the disciples could now understand and believe fully that He was indeed the Son of God and knew all things. We have that same firm knowledge for ourselves today as well as Jesus parting message in John 16; 33. These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have many tribulations; but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world." We should embrace the peace Jesus left us and this wonderful assurance should follow us every day as we deal with the trials and tribulations in the world around us.
Men's Fun Day June 25th from 11-2, food, beverages and fellowship provided. All men and sons are invited.
Seasons of Service Outreach, ATAP Ministry, and Save Our World Ministries offices are located at 208 West Jefferson. Ph#660-885-5550. Saveourworldministry@gmail.com

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near. (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Millions of “Christians” today are not members of a church, nor do they attend church services. Why? Because they believe church is unimportant and irrelevant to their faith. Why? Because they believe churches are full of unbelievers. They look at people attending church and see a sanctuary full of hypocrites and sinners. They believe they can practice their faith much better by themselves at home or out hiking in the woods. Nonsense!
The truth is, we all are both sinners and saints. Church is not just for perfect people. There are none. Church attendance is not optional. The Christian Church is a hospital for sinners. It is where the Holy Spirit has promised to meet us to impart and strengthen faith in us through Word and Sacrament.
Jesus established the church for our benefit. Attend Trinity Lutheran Church-Clinton this Sunday. Jesus has promised to meet you there!

Valley Center United
We came today to worship together as the Body of Christ and sang, "Holy, Holy, Holy, God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity".
We welcomed our dear friend Mark White, who is the grandson of Carol and Franklin Rapp. He has visited our community and church many times over the last years and we were very happy to see him again!!
We send our prayers to Butch Smith as he has had some serious heart issues. We continue our prayers of hope and peace for the people of the Ukraine, as they are fighting for the democracy for all of us.
We believe in the Triune God; God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. One in three persons. Each "person" in the trinity is different, yet they are the same.
So, how can three persons be one? Sometimes it is hard to believe in things that we don't actually see, its existence can sometimes be beyond our comprehension.
As people of faith, we believe and know that God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are actually three persons that exist in God as one entity. They are all different, but of the same substance. Here is a simple analogy. Just like water of any form, ice, liquid and vapor, it is the same substance, but moves in different ways. When you think about it, we too have the same essence, but we look and act differently.
We are all tied to God the Father. He knows all, sees all and loves all; he is everywhere. We feel God's strength and presence in the world and we know he is near.
But Jesus moved differently. He came to us as a man. His presence on earth was not everywhere as God was, but throughout his life he traveled to and from the places he needed to be. He fulfilled the plan that God gave him to do. He brought healing and hope of eternal life for all.
The Holy Spirit has a personal energy and an invisible power that comes into our hearts. It is a force that helps us to make commitments, to speak out and tell the story. It gives us the courage to make a difference.
Three persons, same substance, different movements.
What is our own substance? What are we made of? What is our movement? God has chosen each of us to be part of his plan to tell others the story of his everlasting hope and unending love. We are all one in the Spirit.
One day soon, fairness and justice will be set right by God. We can feel his presence and make the proclamation that God is real and we ask for his blessing that we might be the Church and give our lives in service of him. Amen
