Batting Cages Get A Lift

Posted

The double batting cage at the Wagoner East Baseball Field got a face lift on Saturday, Nov. 20. The cage was built in 2014 by the former CHS baseball coach, Jim Garvin, and was financed by the Tony Komer Foundation. The often used cage found itself with its main frame and nets slowly needing some attention. Matt Petry, an avid supporter of the area sports programs, stepped forward and organized a work day to refurbish the valuable cage. He also serves on the Clinton Park Board. Mr. Petry, with support from the Osage Valley Electric Company, and direct hands on help from Tom Golder, Jacob Goucher and Daniel Lewis got the cage ready for use again. Thanks to all.
Coach Lersch the new head coach for the Clinton Cardinals Baseball team wanted to thank all of those involved. He said, “Baseball has some motivated parents and supporters. A huge thank you goes out to those that have put in some work to help fix the batting cage. We have a lot to do to get where we all want to be and we have some truly amazing people pitching in to get us there! Go Cardinals!”
