Peggy Bollin, age 100, passed away on Friday, May 12, 2023 at her home in Clinton, Missouri.
Peggy Bollin was born in Memphis, Tennessee on March 1, 1923. Her parents were Haysler Allen Poague and Sara Avery Poague, both were members of pioneer families of Henry County. Peggy lived all her life in Clinton, Missouri. She married Eugene Burns of Clinton and they had a daughter named Susan Winchester Burns. After his untimely death in 1976, she married Eugene O. Bollin from Kansas City and they resided in Clinton all their married life.
Peggy attended Christian College and the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. She was a Charter Member of the Seedling Garden Club, the Tuesday and Wednesday Bridge Clubs, and the Historical Society. She served on the School Board for 8 years and on the Cemetery Board for 13 years, and was a member of Clinton Study Club.
She is survived by her daughter Susan Burns Robinson, granddaughter Anne Avery Von Schlegell and husband Wayne Davey, and great granddaughter Sarah Winchester Davey all of Atlanta, Georgia. Also survived by Eugene Bollin’s 3 daughters, Gail Burt, Jill Champoux and Jane Cochran all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, 8 grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held May 20, 2023 at the United Methodist Church, Clinton with Rev. Monty Stratton officiating. Special music included “Great Is Thy Faithfulness and Amazing Grace” with David Cummings as pianist. The casket bearers were Bob Reid, John Bailey, Wayne Davey, Bob Harrill, Rob Wetzel and Larry Brown. Interment followed in Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, MO.
Services were under the direction of Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.
